In Googling for some 2008 Beijing Olympics news and related blogs, I stumbled upon this 16-year old Tiphanie’s new blog dedicated to chronicles of her trip to China and her first taste of the Olympics.

She may not be one of those competing but I’m quite envious of where she is right now.

Though a talented swimmer, Tiphanie from SOS Children’s Village Calais was chosen by the French swimming federation to receive a special ticket to be at the Beijing Olympics games.  With 17 other aspiring French young sports talents, she’ll be watching the games, visit sights in China (her itinerary includes a visit of the rainwater collecting project in the village of Zhaona de Tianshui and the Terracotta Army), meet Chinese kids and participate in a humanitarian project by organization “Secours Populaire Français”.

Aren’t those good reasons enough to be in China right now? Sadly though I can only watch the Olympics on TV, if given the time.

But I’m glad for this kid.  That’s surely a wonderful opportunity for her to travel and see another world outside of her comfort zone.  Also, I think it should inspire her to work harder on being a better athlete.  Someday perhaps, she’d be the one competing in the Olympics.

I think it would be good to bookmark this blog and I hope I’ll be seeing good updates soon.

Everyone and his dog must have read by now (and some, still reading religiously) the blog of Brian Gorrell about how he had been slighted by DJ and his merry gang of high-society movers and even his family.  With people’s penchant for gossip, especially about those who’re celebrities or are well-known personalities, I wouldn’t be surprised by the sustained popularity that Brian’s blog has been getting over the past few weeks.  A blog filled with revelations and scandals…who wouldn’t be interested to read it?  Even if one doesn’t like gossip that much, still, there would be an itch to take a peek and see what it was all about.

After reading the posts, I tend to be a little bit cautious in accepting all of it as truth.  Sure the guy does sound sincere and I actually believe that this guy, DJ, did squander all his money.  But there’s just something in it that reminded me of a “similar” incident that happened to me and my ex-bf.  I actually blogged about it, sometime in January of 2006.  It happened just a little before my ex-bf and I celebrated our first month of being together.

Please just read the blog post as I’m too lazy to re-post the entire thing here.

But that’s not all.  The miserable fag who’s been harassing me through text messages even had the gall to put up two friendster accounts, one account was for their pictures together and even had their profile as a couple and the other account was supposedly “my” account with my pictures taken from my real friendster photo gallery.  And, of course, this pseudo-friendster account of mine contains all negative things he could think of about me.

And in his friendster blog, he recounted the ways he had been slighted by my ex-bf and his family, accusing them of extortion and of using him to get exclusive privileges in the hospital where he worked.  He even blogged twisted lies about me harassing him on phone to stay away from my ex-bf and the like.

I really lost respect for that person, considering that he’s in a noble profession in one of the most respectable hospitals in the country.   But what could I have done then but just ignore him?  Oh well, yeah, I also reported his pseudo-friendster accounts as offensive.  After 2 months of annoying us, he finally relented and eventually ceased from doing those things.  He must have listened to his more levelheaded colleagues who also knew my ex-bf.

So, the point is, even if this DJ did squander money from this Brian Gorrell and that it is understandable why he’s spewing all those revelations in his blog, I feel quite uncomfortable that he’s posting all those photos of DJ, his friends, and his family, which obviously came from a private photo gallery (perhaps DJ’s friendster account).  Also, I did not like that he had to be so corrosive towards the family and the friends.  His problem is with the guy only (though he claims that family members and friends also slighted him) so, why bother the family and friends?

So, again, I’m not saying that this Brian Gorrell is telling lies.  I’m saying that I don’t buy everything that he says.  Everything could just be a mixture of half-truth, truth, and lies, all because some punk ex-lover had the impunity to get his money.

I can be gullible at times but, this time it just reminds me too much of previous incidents that I’m really careful about lapping it all up.

But still, in a nasty sort of way, the blog is entertaining.  So, what the hell? :-p
