It’s Another Coke Party!

Coke seems to be exerting all possible efforts promoting their new product, Coke Zero, as there’s another event similar to their “surprise” last February but, this time, sponsored together with SM Hypermart: the Buhay Coke ng Bloggers with SM Hypermarket. This happened last June 27, Friday, at Taste Asia in SM Mall of Asia.

This time, I did not come alone. I was with my friend, Ailyn, currently a non-blogger but, with a little more prodding, might go into blogging (or maybe not. She doesn’t even check her email and Friendster page. Hehe).

Well, at least, I think she enjoyed having encountered Marcelle’s magic:

As for photos of the event, I really wasn’t able to take photos that much. But I’ve got some videos! Here, take a look at what happened during the party (warning: the video is about 30 minutes long. I patched up all the videos together to make it one continuous movie):

I spent most of the night hanging out with Jon, Sarah, my friend, Ailyn, Arbet, and Pierre. Though I wasn’t able to take pictures of other people, I still have some that I could share:

So, after some time of post-partying (drinking more beer), I went home with my box of new Coke-designed dinner plates, spoons, forks, and glasses. And since I’m only taking the public commute home, I gave away my 1 case of Coke Zero. It’s okay, though, because I’m living with diabetics. It would be unkind to be perpetually tempting them to drink Coke Zero.

Maybe I should bring my glucometer on Friday’s event just to check the blood glucose levels of those people who had been chugging cans and cans of Coke Zero since the last party. Hahahaha.

My blood sugar definitely rose that night! My niece was already complaining that I didn’t need to drink beer to be drunk! Gah! I had to take a no-Coke diet the whole weekend to recover hehehe.

Through the years, Coca-cola has been my #1 beverage. I also like its sister products such as Sprite, Royal and the defunct Lift (I wish they’ll revive it). It has gotten better than its rival, Pepsi.

Well, in terms of advertising strategies, I must say that previously, Pepsi did better. They signed some popular celebs like Britney Spears and Beyonce to promote their products. However presently, it seems like it was overshadowed by Coca-cola.

Holding a some kind of gathering of certain groups of people (eg. bloggers) I think, is one of the best strategies to boost sales.
