I haven’t been able to regularly post about the AI as I’ve been busy with work. But I wasn’t busy enough to miss the shows. For 3 weeks I’ve been following AI and it must be one of the very few shows that I watch on TV nowadays.

I’m happy with the crop of new talents they have on AI this season. But, actually, for me the top 12 onwards are the more exciting and interesting part because these are the times when the less interesting talents are weeded out of the group. Not that I hate their talent. I just don’t find them too interesting. Well, except Danny Noriega. I think he should have stayed for a little while longer. The last song he performed was “Tainted Love”. Simon didn’t like it, but I’ve to say it’s fun watching Danny do this song.

As for Luke Menard, I do not really quite like him the way I like the other contestants. But he was good in his version of “Wake Me Up Before You Go”. That song is one of my all-time favorites. My comment on that is just I don’t think it really suited him as it would have required a bright personality to really sing the song.

It’s been a drag seeing Kady Malloy struggling to find the right song for her in this competition. It was fun seeing her short clips, though.

For Asia’h Epperson, I was a bit surprised that she got eliminated this early. Or maybe it’s just she’s being overshadowed by other power singers in the competition.

I’d say I’ve got some favorite performances already:

Yeah, this is a guilty pleasure. I can’t believe I’m listening to an emo song, Lionel Richie’s “Hello”. I mean, this is like listening to Cueshe!  I got to say, I like his take on the song.  But please don’t kill me! And boy, he’s got sexy lips (Michael Johns, please don’t get jealous. I still love you anyway).

I’m really waiting for Amanda to come out and shine in this competition because I want a rocker chick to get into the finals. I agree with the judges that the “I Hate Myself For Loving You” song is perfect for her and it actually sounded more rock than the original. Yeah, so I like it very much.

Can’t wait for next week to come!

And yes, that’s a Clover chip that Pao Chi is munching right there.
