Honestly, I wasn’t at all happy at the turnout of the auditions held in Charleston (ooohhhh…an AI judge wannabe? Hehehe). But there are some interesting auditions, like that of Michelle and Jeffrey Lampkin (the first ones who appeared on the Youtube video embedded in this post). They performed a duet very well, although I’ve got to partially agree with Simon when he said that Jeffrey was a better singer than Michelle. But it may be perhaps Michelle’s voice didn’t just come out very prominently in the duet so as not to clash with Jeffrey’s voice. I think what they should have done is to have asked both of them to perform solo auditions, in addition to the duet. But, overall, I think they deserve a chance to go to Hollywood.
As for Amy Flynn, she’s got a cute voice, but I don’t find her as a singer that I’d really be listening to when she performs on stage or listen to her CD. She seemed a sincere person, though.
For London Weidberg, I hope she gets to the Top 24. She isn’t exactly one of my favorites, but I’m interested to know and hear which songs she could sing, as she’s got a different kind of voice that doesn’t sound so much “pop”.
So, that wraps up another week of AI auditions. I actually can’t wait for the Hollywood auditions to be shown. It’s a much more intense show and more interesting.
