So now you know how young I am
My birthday was actually yesterday, September 5, but I’ve been celebrating my birthday since last Saturday. For the joint celebration of my birthday and Herbert’s birthday, the barkada went to Pork Barrel (which is somewhere in Timog avenue, I think. Not the one along Congressional. Or whatever. I’m really bad in remembering street names) for a night of good food, videoke, and barkada bonding.

But, first, we dropped by TriNoma because I’m really craving for some black forest ice cream cake at Five Cows.

I miss the white-washed chairs and the colorful pillows.

I wasn’t able to take photos much because I was busy waiting for the cake to be served. Hehe. And all the good shots are in Herbert’s camera. Maybe if he could email me some of the photos, I’d post it here.

Also, I wasn’t able to take a photo of the luscious slice of Black Forest Ice Cream Cake because it’s almost eaten to oblivion before I realized that I want to take a photo of it for my blog.
So maybe in my next visit I’d be able to take some photos.

Then we went to Pork Barrel. Our friends, the Penguins, AJ and Jo, were still now with us at that time but AJ said she called to have a VIP room reserved for us. When we inquired though, there were no reservations under AJ or Jo’s name. We even tried asking if there was a reservation made under the name, “Penguins”. But there were none.

But since we’re a bit early (it was only 7:30 p.m. then), we just took an unreserved VIP room. Only later when AJ and Jo arrived that we learned that the reservation was made under the name, “Jedi Council” (a name we call our Saturday drinking sessions). We transferred to the reserved VIP room because it was smaller, cooler, and more private.

Barrel of beer and lots of pulutan…that’s only the start of a long-drawn evening of singing, eating and drinking.

The Tower of Power! And, no, that’s not piss

So, yeah, we had that tower, 2 barrels, and 2 buckets of beer. And lots of sisig, buttered corn, Hungarian sausage, seafood fest, crispy tofu, peanuts, and kropek. Goodbye health and hello to cholesterol!

But at least, we had loads of fun!

Me and Bestfriend Mutya. Promise, we are not tomato red in real life.

I can’t believe, though, that they made me sing “Baby, One More Time” by Britney Spears AGAIN. I think this is in commemoration of my first attempt at the song during our Barkadalympics ‘07 Latian getaway (What can I do? It’s the only song I know from the songs they picked for me to sing). ‘Was thinking of doing it Marty Casey style but sadly it didn’t come out that way. Haha.

We left at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday and decided to drop by Starbucks West ave. for a bit of caffeine (and sugar rush). Even if it’s raining and we’re still getting wet despite the umbrella above our heads, we liked hanging out at Starbucks, or any coffee shop for that matter. We just don’t seem to run out of things to talk about. Call it chismax but who doesn’t like to talk gossips? Or reminiscing about the good ‘ol days?

After an hour, we decided to go home. For one, they don’t like spending 3:33 a.m. out in the street because of the Exorcism of Emily Rose movie. Good thing I didn’t see this movie because I’m already scared shit just hearing them talk about it.

Also, the hospital awaits me for my 24-hours hospital duty.

But despite those, I enjoyed very much this celebration. And I also got a new Starbucks tumbler out of it. Hehe.

(More pictures to follow, if Herbert will send me those that are in his camera. Hehe.)
