Thursday Thirteen #20
Now, instead of wasting my time getting depressed and miserable over someone leaving me hanging at the first sight of trouble, I should make myself busy with doing things that are pleasurable and satisfying for me.
Here are the 13 projects that I have in mind to get me out of the dumps:
- A Sex Blog. It’s not going to be a collection of pinoy sex scandals. A site for that is already in existence (http://pinoyscandal.blogspot.com). I want it to be a carnival of stories related to sex: first-time sex, almost had sex, most boring sex, most exotic sex, wildest sex, romantic sex, etcetera. I definitely have a fair contribution of sex stories myself, haha. I just hope everybody would be excited about this project, too!
- Hard copy of my blog posts. I think I have already accumulated 500+ posts and I dearly want to see it in book form. I think every blogger dreams of that too. I could upload it to Lulu.com but I don’t know how much the whole thing would cost. I will attempt to arrange it in word document, print it on my own, and have it bookbound in Dapitan or in any Copytrade branch. Who knows? It might become a bestseller.
- Organize Barkadalympics games. The Barkadalympics will be on June 16 to June 17. I already have in my list 11 games, all of which will require strength, endurance, and strategy: Tableau (a role-playing game), Ice boxing, Coke Burp contest, Kokak race, and our very own Amazing Race! Participants (who are my own friends, of course) are advised to bring the following: brown bag, antacids, hydrating solutions, gauze and bandage, and nebulizer. Haha! I won’t be blogging on Saturday and Sunday because of this but don’t miss me too much.
- Gather more review materials for USMLE. I have postponed this far too much and far too long. Time to grind!
- Room renovations (new bookshelves to replace the crappy old ones, and new bed arrangement). I’ve been wanting to change the way my room looks. It looks like a stock room! And I really want to dispose much of the old dressing table/cabinet and the TV on top of it that I’m not using at all. I’ll turn my attention to this once I have the money to buy the new bookshelves.
- Separate backup CDs for pictures, wordpress files, and documents. I have lumped everything in 2 discs, unorganized, in an effort to just have a backup file, in case the computer crashes. Now I want to have it organized.
- Convene online Filipino medical blog writers. I rarely encounter medical blog writers, whereas in the U.S., these kinds of blogs flourish. It’s about time that the pinoy medical blogs do too!
- Host Grand Rounds. Grand Rounds is simply a listing of outstanding medical blog posts for the week. I have submitted mine for next week’s GR at Codeblog.com, who’s the host for next week. Hopefully, I’d get my turn to host it someday.
- Build my own photo gallery. I’m still not decided on this one, though. It seems tedious, being that all my pictures are already at Multiply. But I might still try reviving Shutterhappy.
- New Blog Template. Of course, I still want it to be pink but I’m looking for a simpler layout. On second thought, I don’t think the minimalistic approach would suit me because of the loads of widgets on my sidebars. It has to be a 3-column layout for me still.
- But/Read the following books: The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, 2000 Years of Disbelief: Famous People With The Courage To Doubt by James Haught, The End of Faith: Religion, Terror, and the Future of Reason by Sam Harris, and Atheist Universe: The Thinking Person’s Answer to Christian Fundamentalism by David Mills. Actually there are lots more but that would do for now.
- Read the articles listed in the Notes section of “The God Delusion” by Richard Dawkins.
- Lose weight gained since I stopped going to the gym for a month. I won’t quote a figure anymore.

Have fun with the projects!
to this eclectic life: I do hope I could accomplish everything! But I’m taking my time since I want to be preoccupied most of the time so I’d forget about the guy who left me hanging
Hey Tess, can you include A Writing Project for Musa Dimasidsing started by Tingog.com in honor of those who perished in the senseless acts of election violence and fraud.
On a trivial note

Three words for technological order and organization - EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE! I swore I would never swoon to them, but I got one as a gift and I will never back up to CDs and DVDs again, unless it is truly needed!!
I love your list, we have similar writing styles I see. I hope to get to be blog-buddies with you!! TTYL!
to Pedestrian Observer: Great looking avatar
I’ll try to write an article. It is an interesting project and I don’t want to pass it up. Hopefully my schedule today will let me write one.
to Karlana: Sure we could be blog buddies! I wish I could get myself an external hard drive too. That would be pretty nifty way of organizing my stuff.

thanx for visiting my 13 addlepated moments
For number 2…even if you don’t intend to publicly publish it, you could keep it as a memento. =) I’d love to do it as well I think.
