I don’t know who started this, but since Carlo has just tagged me several days ago and I’m already done with my exam, I think it would be fun and worth my while doing this. After all, it’s been a long time since I’ve blogged. Haha.
Ok, the mechanics:
1. The tagged victim has to come up with 8 different points of their perfect lover.
2. Need to mention the sex of the target
3. Tag 8 victims to join this game and leave a comment on their comments box or the like saying they’ve been tagged.
It was asked that the sex of the lover should be mentioned. Since I believe love transcends gender, the following points should be applicable to both men and women because I am attracted to both. But currently, I’m in love with my boyfriend and with no one else, so I guess that would make me a heterosexual for the meantime. Hahaha.
Yeah, there is no perfect lover of course…per se. But there is a perfect lover for each one of us, with the perfect quirks and nuisances that we love. And we do all strive for perfection, in one way or another, don’t we?
So, now, the 8 different points of a perfect lover (in no particular rank):
1) A Good Coffee Buddy
I’m a coffee freak. I love hanging out at Starbucks, Figaro, Seattle’s Best or whatever coffee shop. I like talking about mundane things to philosophical ideas over tall cups of cappuccino or even a venti cup of rhumba frappucino with raspbery syrup and a shot of espresso. It’s part of my life and, under no circumstances would I part with it. So, what if my lover isn’t a coffee drinker? Well, there’s tea. And the pastries. He/She can will be fine with it. The important thing is he/she would respect the place I consider sacred and essential to my well-being. It would be a plus factor if he/she share the same sentiments.
2) Warm as Coffee, Sweet as Bailey’s, Intoxicating as Vodka…in bed
I don’t date cold fish. I may be psychrophilic at times, but I crave sensuality. He/she doesn’t have to be an expert, but is willing to take a dip in that dark, inviting pool of sensual and sexual pleasures. Warm as coffee I said because he/she should exude passion for me and could hold my ever wandering attention. Sweet as Bailey’s because sex with the lover should be something that I will crave for the longest time. Intoxicating as Vodka because…when I do the horizontal tango, I let everything go and not think of anything else. Like when I drink, I make love with my Vodka and my Vodka loves me.
3) A Thinker and A Conversationalist
No, he/she need not be an intellectual. Just someone who would be willing to delve into issues of controversy or topics not so thoroughly explored. Also, these traits would be helpful during those times of disputes. I want a lover who could argue his/her point but is capable of seeing both sides of the discussion as well.
4) A Great Friend
Yes, lovers should be friends too. Otherwise, the love would begin and end in bed. I want my lover to be present, or somehow participatory, in every phase of my life. He/she would be a good companion, especially during those times when the passion is at its nadir.
5) Independent But Not Commitment-phobic
I’m already done with relationships in which I just enjoy the ride. Now, I look forward to more meaningful relationships…long-term, if possible. My lover should truly know the meaning of the word “commitment”. By commiting to one another, we pledge our loyalty and faithfulness to the relationship but we do not lose our identities along the way. And I want my lover to be independent. He/she should know what he/she wants. But, practically-speaking, we should aim for the same direction in life. We just can’t go on arguing forever whenever we encounter crossroads in our life’s journey of course.
6) He/She Accepts Me For Who I Am.
My entire package should be what he/she wants. Accessories may be added and improvements may be done later, but those were just bonuses. Minor and reasonable modifications could be negotiated but it shouldn’t be the essential point of the whole relationship. If he/she can’t accept me for what I am now and can’t deal with what I have done in the past, he/she will be more than welcome to leave. Besides, I wasn’t born in this world to make someone else happy. I was born to be me.
7) A Progressive Person
The niceties of the old are good some times, but every now and then, one has to assess his/her set of values and principles if it’s in touch with the current times. The past is not meant to be dwelt upon. And I’m looking for a lover whom I could grow with, not a person who I would see as an artifact of history.
He/She Loves Me and I Love Him/Her Too.
Self-explanatory.
I’m tagging the following people so that they could tag their other friends, etcetera, etcetera:
1 Chel
2 Serj
3 Vince
4 Josh
5 Jo Rodriguez
6 Ivan
7 AJ Jacinto
8 Cherry
